Background

In Rwanda, some children—particularly orphans, street children, and those from low-income households—face challenges, including hunger and social difficulties. These children often struggle with hopelessness and emotional problems that hinder their growth and well-being.

Faith in Action Foundation, based in Kicukiro District, Kigali City, is committed to restore hope and dignity to every child. The Utunyange Project, named after the Kinyarwanda word meaning “little white egrets”, aims to help children shine through holistic care, psychosocial healing, education, and safe, creative spaces.
